On March 31, 2008, the Division of Workers' Compensation announced a cost of living increase of 4.44 effective May 10, 2008.  Injured workers who have been receiving weekly benefits for total disability for at least 52 weeks prior to May 10, 2008 are entitled to the increase.

The Division of Workers' Compensation has announced that the maximum weekly compensation benefit will be increased to $882.00 for all injuries occurring on or after September 1, 2007.

On April 9, 2007, the Division of Workers' Compensation announced a cost of living increase of 2.2% effective May 10th, 2007. Injured workers who have been receiving weekly benefits for total disability for at least 52 weeks prior to May 10, 2007 are entitled to the increase.

The Division of Workers’ Compensation has announced that the maximum weekly compensation benefit will be increased to $845.00 for all injuries occurring on or after September 1, 2006.

On July 14, 2006, Governor Carcieri appointed Gary J. Levine to the State Rehabilitation Council. The SRC is responsible for working with the Office of Rehabilitation Services in assuring that Rhode Islanders with disabilities are able to obtain and maintain meaningful employment.
